Inclusion and Rejection

Why wasn’t my submission included?

The most simple and likely explanation for your submission not being included would be that your submission didn’t meet the submission guidelines in the host’s eyes.

It is normal and likely that at some time in your blogging “career,” you will have at least one or two carnival submissions that aren’t included in a carnival, and it doesn’t make you a bad blogger. Each edition of the carnival is hosted by a different blogger who has his/her own standards regarding quality and compliance with submission criteria.

If you’re new to blogging and blog carnivals and your posts aren’t making the carnivals, here are a few ways you can improve your chances of inclusion:

  • Learn by reading blogs by successful bloggers in your niche
  • Keep writing good content; always strive for 110% on every post
  • Proofread every post before publishing
  • Submit your best work to the carnival
  • Make sure your submission is within the submission guidelines

Please remember: the focus of this carnival is  quality and perpetual relevance and hosts are asked to be particular in their selections, so submit your best articles to increase your chances of inclusion.

My submissions stopped being included

If your submissions used to be regularly included in the carnival, but are now being regularly rejected  (all of your submissions being excluded for 5-6 weeks in a row), it is most likely due to a consistent failure to link back to the published carnivals in which you were previously included.

When you submit your posts to a carnival, you personally agree (by checking the box on the form) that you will link back to the published carnival within 10 days. Repeated failure to do so results in your future submissions being blacklisted and disqualified from inclusion.

While accidentally forgetting to link back once or twice will not result in blacklisting, a consistent failure to do so will.

Rest assured that sites are thoroughly checked before being put on the blacklist and if you have been linking back, you will not be blacklisted.

Why do I have to link back?

Can I have a second chance?

You may request to have your blog temporarily removed from the blacklist by contacting me and letting me know that you intend to link back to all future carnival inclusions. After a period of consistent compliance with the Link-Back Policy, you will be moved back to the whitelist.
