About the Carnival: For Bloggers

The Carnival of Pecuniary Delights is a weekly carnival which travels from one blog to another. The purpose of this carnival is to showcase quality articles that may have lapsed into obscurity within the dusty archives of a blog but deserve another day in the limelight.

The first edition of the Carnival of Pecuniary Delights will be hosted by Pecuniarities on Thursday April 2, 2009.

Unlike other existing personal finance blog carnivals, the Carnival of Pecuniary Delights has no limitation on the age of posts submitted. However, its requirements for quality are more stringent and hosts are asked to be more discerning in their selection of articles to feature.

The topic categories also differ a little from traditional finance carnivals. Besides the traditional finance categories (finance, money management, saving, credit, debt, etc.), this carnival will offer more “homey” categories such as:

  • Personal Finance (general)
  • Money Management (tips on saving, spending, budgeting, etc.)
  • Frugal Living (anything related to frugal living)
  • Frugal Home (frugal home and garden)
  • Frugal Kitchen (frugal dining, cooking, recipes)
  • Frugal Family (frugal parenting, family activities, etc.)
  • Green Living (tips that save money and the environment)
  • Personal Financial Journey (anecdotes)
  • Debt & Credit (advice and tips - not credit card reviews)
  • Investing (strategies and advice but not “hot stock picks”)
  • Economy (observations and commentary)
  • Other (relevant topics)

Check the Submission Guidelines for all the current offered categories.

What is the Carnival of Pecuniary Delights for?

  • Articles written at the inception of a blog that garnered less attention due to the newness of the blog and small number of readers.
  • Good posts that carnival hosts feel are still pertinent to the times and deserve an encore performance.
  • Posts that missed the submission window of blog carnivals with post age restrictions.

Why You Should Participate

  • To revive traffic to and discussion on older but good blog posts.
  • To get a link to your blog from a qualified host blog.
  • If your article is chosen as an Editor’s Pick, it will be featured at the top of the carnival where it has increased visibility.
  • Editor’s Picks will also be mentioned here on the carnival home page, so you would get 2 links to your post.
